    If I'm not wrong, Chase will protect Pete from the dog. He tryin to face his trauma for his baby (it's so cute and touching) I didn't read the novel tho, cmiiw

    Although chase is afraid of dogs he will protect Pete and then Josh tells him he is ur son too so he js becomes very happy
