don’t get me wrong, i think this author is amazing at building romantic and sexual tension without character building but i would’ve loved to see the main story with some of this information hinted. it’s funny how della’s backstory adds necessary depth and better understanding to his personality, because i genuinely thought he was insane for the love of the game. this new lore contextualizes his motivations and thought processes!!
is it not romantic that someone who grew up this way and faced violence all his life finally became vulnerable with someone? he believes in some way he’s manipulating keith by telling him about his trauma, not realizing this is exactly how you build relationships- trust and letting someone care for you LOL. the irony!!
