yk I do occasionally think about carcel's cheating from a wider pov than just the "cheaters are the worst" (they are)
I mean he was engaged to a woman before he was even 10 years old, as he got older assumed she must have liked him at least to get engaged, then have the same woman completely and utterly shut him out for no explained reason and then act utterly cold to him like she didn't care at all about him.
it does lead me to wonder, if the gender roles were switched here, would we still look at carcel's choices as trashy or just the actions of someone trapped. especially cuz (i can't remember but) was he even allowed to call off the engagement? all he could do was delay it right?
