Kids really do disappear that fast, yanno? I’m a firm advocate of putting a leash on kids when in public places.
I’m not a parent. I’m saying this as a former kid: you would not BELIEVE how much ground I could cover as a 5 year old with tireless legs & the whole wide world out there. If I ever become a parent and I end up with a kid doing exactly the same things I used to do, I’d lock them in the house.
I climbed a frigging cliff when I was seven. For kicks. Then I went through a forest, I only turned back because I came across a bog, tripped into it, got grossed out, and ran back home to shower. Looking up the distance now, I covered what 10 kilometers? In a single afternoon. It’s a miracle I’m alive.
