King Curan's brother (can't remember his name anymore) was right about how Curan will bring misery and that the late brother was a better leader. Curan looks threatened by Ars and is now demanding things that will put Ars in direct harm or at a huge disadvantage.
Curious to see how he (and his advisers) will act.

I mean to a point, but you have to remember the King has told Ars most of his vassals are incompetent. He knows Ars is one of his few vassals with ability so he needs him on the front line anyway.
Add on him knowing if Ars flips they lose one of their few cards in the war. So while in a way he is ostracising Ars he kind of has to treat him this way, even if he didn't suspect ars (which he clearly does) just to win the war.
