Is it the age that takes away empathy and nuance for the people commenting? Type of reasoning that you hear from victim blamers. How would she know better? In what magical environment would she have learned to suddenly have self-worth and respect after that shitty childhood where her “siblings” and even the servants treated her like shit? The only one who could have helped her, her mom, just taught her to suck it up and obey, to be useful to her plans and shut up.
Where exactly would she have learned to do and be any better? Her only role model is her mom, but MC doesn't have that cruel and calculating mind either to be the perfect villain y'all want her to be, and if she had been, it wouldn't be a villainess anyway.
All she saw was her mother getting rid of her enemies using mind games, her body, and violence.
How the hell would she have known better? She has been raised in that environment and is still there.
She's not being stupid for the way she acts towards ML, she's being naive. Clearly, the last traces of her innocence are in those feelings she has towards him, probably the only authentic positive feeling she has ever felt her whole life, and she has no other way to deal with the sadness, hurt, and jealousy than the way she has been taught.
It's just sad.
I also would say ML isn't as bad as y'all making him out to be as long as we're being objective.
And y'all don't want to let the story build either. There's too much lack of information to be this radical about each individual in this story, and both MC and ML lack that information about each other as well so imagine what they're thinking.
