I'm heart is aching so much for Lucas, for Paula, for Vincent, for Ethan and even to some extent for Alicia as well. No one chooses the circumstances they are born into and the person we become is shaped by those circumstances. Paula and Alicia are so different bit in some ways also so alike. They were both just children in a scary situation trying to survive. They both struggle with feeling safe, feeling happy, wanting to be loved and cared for they just express this in different ways. I love how complex and real all the characters are in this story.
