    SPOLIERS:

So Eden now only remembers up until he was 28. He asked the system to erase his memories from after that point. (I’ll leave that spoiler out for now since the how/why is a much deeper point.)

So we’ve already established that the Eden whose memories are being unlocked after 28, including the one with the hand covered in death tattoos, is our Eden. After everything that happened to him — his breakup with Hajun, which sent him into a slump and made him stop writing music, leaving the group, and especially exposing KJ as a plagiarist — things just kept getting worse. He kept getting hate, saying he voided KJ’s suicide and all that.

    DEATH SPOILERS:

Because Eden was so isolated and already struggling with insomnia (which is something he tends to experience when he’s stressed), he had been relying on sleeping pills and alcohol to sleep. The chapters leading up to it strongly imply that his death was a suicide, but once we unlock more of his memories, we find out that it actually wasn’t intentional at all. Beer had basically stopped working for him, even with the sleeping pills, so he switched to soju instead, and that ultimately caused his death.

(Extra: His mom was the one who found him.)

As for Cha [whatever his name is ] and Eden, they aren’t really working together, but they aren’t actively working against each other anymore either. They both have the same general goal of getting revenge on the bigger problem that ultimately caused KJ’s death and, in turn, Eden’s death.

That being said, Cha is also kind of an idiot He failed to notice some VERY obvious things, so he does still bear some responsibility for what happened to Eden, at least to an extent.

    TATTOO SPOILERS:

The “To Freely Bloom” tattoo on his forearm is a little unclear to me because of the wording of the novel, but it seems like he did actually get it at 24 in his previous lifetime. 30-year-old Eden originally planned to mess up now-Eden’s body when he took over, but after his conversation with Hajun and seeing how happy Eden was, he became kind of regretful about it. So instead of changing his body the way he originally intended, he decided to leave the tattoos his original self had gotten. The meaning also seems to tie into the idea of this Eden getting the opportunity to bloom freely, instead of becoming the Eden from his previous life who couldn’t bloom and eventually withered away.

And we will see it next chapter, but the royal azalea on his shoulder is REVE’s birth flower, so that tattoo is tied to REVE and what they meant to Eden.
