A bit of a spoiler on what changes they made in the manhwa from the novel, also regarding to the cat lady since some are curious about it.
There's deviation every few chapters. In the novel, Karamav and his goons only annihilated the castle and everyone in it. After all, it makes no sense to massacre serfs who pay taxes. They also didn't beat up the priest. Churches are holy grounds even during conflict. Even Karamav did not dare touch them because the Holy Church is quite powerful and influential. Also, MC saved his two idiot siblings by hiding them in the church, though they can no longer use their last names for obvious reasons.
The "no killing" thing didn't happen in that one village didn't happen novel. MC demanded benefits from the village, including the village slave. The village slave in the novel was someone in his mid-thirties, IIRC.
MC's identity was never discovered in Marcel or anywhere else, for that matter. MC was quite paranoid and cautious. He is usually smart and only does foolish shit due to ignorance of the common sense in this world (like not using the Lake poison on the troll).
In the novel, MC beat the troll by knocking it down, stepping on its back, and pulling its arms off its shoulders. He was in no danger at all.
The drunken furry night didn't happen in the novel. So it's basically a gag add on in the manhwa.
