literally... at first i thought that Yeon enjoyed her company because Yeon was a woman herself and found it enjoyable to be around another woman, but later on it dead seemed like caught feelings for her. overall i didn't like how romance was written here at all. i wasn't satisfied with her and Doha's "romance" in the end at all. not because i was team Biseol, but because it dead made no sense. she didn't gaf about that guy for like 95% of the story and all of a sudden they're kissing? man wtf.
I completely agree with you. The cover chosen for this manhwa here in magago also feels a bit biased. Doing some research I found out that there are other official covers. I published my favorite in one of my albums.
Apart from that for me it feels like the author have been playing with us, their readers until the very end. I lost count of how many times I thought that Biseol an Jeok-Yeon were going to kiss,... Throughout the entire manhwa, Jeok-Yeon seems to be seducing him while he struggles to resist. Personaly I can't believe that Jeok-Yeon, despite how she's written, is so oblivious to Biseol's feelings for her throughout the entire story, and yet she seems to enjoy so much teasing him that if she feels nothing more than friendship or sisterly love for him, I find her behavior quite cruel!.
Then there was the massage scene, the "antidote kissing", the suggestive scenes of him sucking her blood while both half naked... But then... nothing beyond that between them was drawn! But there are the lines from Biseol to Doha : "Don't flatter yourself into thinking you're the only man for her just because she calls on you often and treats you like you're special..." "Her Majesty can embrace any man she pleases..." "Her majesty likely prefers hands she knows well..."... etc.... (chapter 115) And the scene of her and Biseol scaping at night over the palace walls... They always alone. At least is what they planned. Then Doha and Baek-Rang pursue them and catch up with them. That desperate and obsessive behavior bothers me.
And the books about who will be the next consort. I think that these "people" are for the author us, the readers xD.
I find Biseol more mature, his love more selfless, and his personality and attitude more elegant. Besides, I love the character because I find him much more interesting than Doha, and his appearance is...just gorgeos from my point of view.
I like to think that she keeps both as lovers, but real love is with Biseol (although maybe she haven't realize yet. ^_^; )
This is my favorite official cover:

The romance here confuses me because it seems so.. unnecessary and weirdly written?
First, the whole thing about multiple people being head of heels for her is just.. eh. But that aside - I don't like how either Doha or Biseol are written as "love interests". When I started reading this, I figured that Doha is our primary love interest, but then as the story went on she just seemed to grow closer and closer to Biseol. I didn't mind it because I was team Biseol all the way, but then why isn't he the primary love interest? What's the point of Doha being there?
Not to mention that Biseol spent hundreds of years with her, and Doha and her spent barely any time together and somehow he's completely bewitched? Huh?
Both Doha and Biseol have good and bad qualities, I just so happened to like Biseol more, but I genuinely don't like how the whole thing was laid out. Aside from the whole romance aspect, I liked the story.
