i'm heartbroken... their love is beautiful.

no words can describe how i fell in love with this manhwa. their love is beautiful. they're so in character and it was consistent until the end in a way that they both grew and matured but they didn't lose themselves. a lot of stories end where the characters become so different in the finale. and this, wow... i don't even know where to start.

guys, this is what a true golden retriever boyfriend/lover looks like. they will always be surrounded by people. some manhwas porteay characters with golden retriever energy but their world only revolve their partner—no. a golden retriever will always want to feel loved by people and showered with affection. it was shown in this manhwa perfectly and beautifully. leewon realizing it as well was a major pill for him to swallow, because his character is an introvert and aloof man but fell in love with a man who's totally his opposite. and it was a growth for him. he accepted it instead of claiming il completely for himself, because he knows he suits the best when he's with people. and it resonates with me so much because i have a personality like leewon. it's hard to accept a reality like that. if you're not secure, you'll always be jealous and possessive, but il made it so his love assured leewon in the end.

and that arc with the 19-year-old bitch, i hate to admit it but he was written annoyingly good. teens will be always be curious. and that's a major milestone for il also because he learned to set boundaries albeit late—honestly it was INFURIATING but for a person like il, it will be hard for him not to be nice to people even with a personality like that. and when his last straw snapped, he realized more that leewon will always be his number one priority above all else, even when it means he has to cut off a friend (which is hard for a person with a personality like him).

while reading, it made me realize why "take me high" was the title. they are both each other's growth. i realized it when leewon decided to stay in korea and when il found out about it, deciding he'd study in germany also. they said things along the lines of "you're going to be more incredible and it means i have to be better too if i want to draw a perfect paiting of you". it's just so, so beautiful that it made me cry.

i have long since accepted i won't ever find a love like this. it'll remain fictional hahaha. but if by any chance i ever did, i'll always be reminded by this manhwa.
