If this was an original story by the artist, I'd understand all the hiatuses but it's an adaptation of someone else's novel and there's a third person involved in writing the chapter layouts. Surely at some point, the serialization of the story should override the artists desire to remain a part of the project if they're unable to commit the time for health reasons. Novel adaptations change artists all the time and it's often not noticeable in the artwork...
