I'm in love with this, damn!!! It has a slow start, for sure, and that can be kinda strange for how (considerably) high stakes the story is – for the entire first half, everything just feels so mundane despite the talk about witches and war and what-not... But the characters feel so *alive,* it's hard not to be entertained anyway. It's just a different kind of entertainment than I guess I'm used to, given I mostly stick to fantasy manhwas. But this a big breath of fresh air!
The last run of events and the closure for this felt sooo good, like we truly earned it, and in a way it's only because of the slow start that we got to see such a thrilling end play out. It was such a perfect wrap!!! I think we could all see it coming in some way, but the journey both Ian and Rosen go through were very well detailed, so it felt really natural despite the cliche. I thought I wouldn't like Ian as much as I did, that I'd come out thinking his attitude too flippant... but nah, I love how his internal struggle was depicted!! 10/10!! Meanwhile, Rosen was a girl boss all the way through, and I was soooo happy they kept her priorities intact and didn't make her one of those "throw all plans away for the ML" kind of FLs. She was the best!!
All in all, if you read this with patience you'll be sure to love it :) May not be for everyone, but the quality is undeniable. Great story, great art, great characters!
