Its pretty unexplained but like it felt to me like the true royal family had be ursuped and corrupted. I dont think the prince is evil, but that he's been corrupted. Cuz pretty sure the real prince is the blue monster. Maybe there's like a "satan" in this lore, an evil diety who is corrupting people and the way they worship while pretending to be the prince, the gold haired guy
