I don't see how his personality excuses his actions, impulsivity and reactivity are definitely playing a role in gyeol's actions but it doesnt make it better in any away. He hates the uke's boss and is trying to save the uke from him but he does the same things his boss does, just in a more frustrated manner.
There's no character nuance here, gyeol has been sweet and caring towards the uke the entire story, he's been getting pent up ans angrier every fight he wins, but it makes no sense for his frustrations to be put on the uke who is literally the victim of what makes him mad, the uke told him to stop multiple times too but he just wouldn't
Also I dont see how people calling rape for what it is are lacking focus on anything, I mean aren't you the one lacking focus on the story if you're trying to ignore what's so obvious in front of your eyes? Correct, OP is defending Gyeol’s behavior but overlooking Yesung’s. Why does she think Yesung loves to stir him up and enjoys the angry sex? It’s a trauma response, and he acted the exact same way with the old man. In a few earlier chapters, you can see Yesung asking to be held and hugged gently after intercourse. This boy doesn’t like violence, but it’s all he’s ever known, and now he’s reliving it with Gyeol.
And how are we screaming rape when it’s the WHOLE POINT of the story? Yesung’s brain has been rewired by years of grooming and sexual abuse. You can see Gyeol’s frustration and confusion every time he has sex with Yesung because Yesung doesn’t act normally at all. At this point, Gyeol is aware of what the old man is doing to Yesung, but for some reason, he decides that the right thing to do is to shake him up as well.
I feel like people will always find a way to defend the seme in yaoi, which is pretty weird. It’s always the same argument: “He’s always been a red flag since the first chapter, so why are you guys shocked about the new chapter?” What a dumbass thing to say.
