No he was like almost sure about it too i think he’s just shocked by how it’s revealed + his former crush’s bf and his current crush used to sleep together + reveal of how top liked him all along even before they got introduced to each other for the first time.
After all that, things they say... and DO TOGETHER... he is speachless and act SUPRISED, that he like him??
