I love this series, even if I don't necessarily agree with the narrative the author is trying to portray. changgeon has indeed went through unimaginable stuff and if this were real life, i'd be more affected over people trying to doubt his culpability.
However, since this is fiction and I feel different about it in a story vs real life, I truly believe that the author has done a good job showing that changgeon is deeply disturbed. I think his trauma-addled brain is so fucked up that he's just like a caged animal. I honestly believe that his actions weren't a work of villainy, but just a further example of how his mental is almost exclusively in primitive mode. There's just no long term thinking from changgeon, just maladaptive and extreme coping mechanisms to maintain control and safety.
It makes for a really interesting narrative and I really enjoy him as a character. I'm excited to see where the fuck their relationship goes. I hope it doesn't fall flat and actually shows how many layers there could be to this.
