Am I the only one who thought this was fine?

I expected the story to be clunky. It is a BL Manhua with a big fat noncon warning at the start so—this narrative trajectory is pretty standard. If anything, the AI translations feel largely to blame for readability issues.

Granted, I enjoy archetypes like the ML. Theres been hints throughout the story that point to reasons for his inaction, why he keeps waiving away the violence from his apprentice. It feels pretty obvious to me. I want to see how the author plans to end this. Especially since forgiving the apprentice would also permit him to walk freely as a calamity god, which is inherently at odds soothing the worlds main conflict between human kind and others. My expectations are low, though.
