Sisyphus is the founder or King of Ephyra and a character from Greek Mythos who, in summary, cheated death, angered the Gods, and was sentenced to an eternal punishment as a result, where he has to push a boulder to the top of a mountain. But every time he reaches the top, the boulder will just roll back down and he'd have to start again.
And that is supposed to be a sort of allusion to this storyline.
