It's funny how everyone is shiting on the baby but honestly thats just the artstyle, like I'm comparing how the author draw chibis and the baby and it's kind of similar. This are the things that stand out of the author style: - the lips - eyes shape - iris shape Those things looks great in a adult face bc it has space so everything can look good but in a baby since his head is smaller those features looks weird, why? Because each one of those features has little details that when combined in a small area it looks busy because it's competing wich each other.
When I see other babies from other authors they either go simple or just detail one feature in their faces (usually the eyes) and leave the rest as simple as posible so our eyes knows where to focus.
In the end, it's the baby ugly? I'll leave that up to you but for me it's the author trying to draw something new and adapting it to their artstyle
