No the characters themselves still don't have the whole picture
All we know so far: the world is ending but we(readers and the characters) don't know why, but MC knows it already ended twice in other parallel worlds, but this is apparently MC's last chance to avoid it. We don't really know basically anything about why the samra guild leader seems to be a villain and maybe related to prometheus(the drug guys) and their whole goal is also kinda murky
