I might feel slightly bad for him, considering his father seems the negligent type. However it's just slight pity. In the end he did torture and hurt several people despite the fact that he was surrounded by many people who were good to him. The empress isn't the typical evil kind, instead is someone who's actually wise and kind and like an actual empress. She looks after all the consorts. From the flashbacks, it's also clear that the emperor also cherished og consort. It was only after og consort continued hurting people around him that he became disappointed in him and lost all his trust, so it's not like the emperor was the typical "I'll treat you like shit only to regret it later when u don't look my way" kind of ml. Heck even his nanny is good to him, looking after him and caring for him despite his past deeds. So yeah I don't really pity the og mc. You feeling lonely and not loved doesn't justify you hurting other people that didn't even do you any wrong.

I feel bad for the OG Consort Yeon.. they did a lot of bad things so it’s a struggle to decide if I feel bad or not.
I appreciate this story giving space to the taking over a dead persons body trope. I feel like most of the time it’s overlooked but it really is pretty tragic that no one will ever know or mourn the OGs death.
