It still absolutely amazes me that for a manhwa that's written with the stereotypical shoujo audience in mind, having two characters that are canonically queer and are integral to not just the plot, but an antithesis to our main characters is so wonderful to see.
Rose was such a well written character. His grief was so profound I found myself almost crying at how deeply he had yearned for Edgar, even going as far as to shape his own body to mirror the man he loved and adored.
It does however sadden me the lengths people will go to completely deny Rose's gender identity as a man; and in turn, his sexuality as a gay man.
Just because he is a eldritch concept with no assigned gender/sex at birth, it still doesn't take away the fact that above all else, the gender expression he chose was that of a man in a time frame where there was such heavy prejudice against queer people.
Honestly though, I think that's what makes Rose all the more interesting of a character. I need more people to recognize the layers that exist to Rose as a character and his relationship with Edgar beyond doomed yaoi! .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. . . . . (But also they are absolutely doomed yaoi and nonbinary/transmasc Rose you are everything to me... ○| ̄|_ )
