i'm currently reading wax doll. it's the prequel to black swan. it's pretty gory but it's very funny and i'm hopi's biggest fan

Im also currently reading wax doll, bc black swan’s prologue was…pretty stroke inducing to me bc they just throw packed paragraphs of paragraphs world building, and bunch of characters at first chapters and it made me dizzy trying to remember every single one of them so i moved to wax doll with an easier beginning

You guys have novel link for black swan? And if you have can you share(づ￣ ³￣)づ

While i ignored wax doll and straight up jumped to black swan cause the politics and war strategies were too interesting to ignore

Reading two chapters of black swan actually does intrigues me bc they immediately jumped to action! Im excited to see how hwanmae will meet gwan chang (havent read the manhwa yet) but still made me dizzy to remember every single characters there, i need a slow introduction.

A bit oot but i need to know who ryu hopi will end with b4 continuing wax doll bc im afraid to get attached to one character n ending up getting disappointed bc hes not the end game

Honestly I'm very glad Hopi didn't end up w Mae, cause well I cannot imagine Mae developing romantic feelings for Hopi ever from my pov, at first Mae found Hopi interesting and fun to mess around with due to his difference from everyone else behavior-wise (he refuses to let anyone take control over him), and that lead to him playing around with Hopi and treating him like a toy basically until he started to see him more as family instead and stopped tormenting him eventually. And well the thing is.. I don't think Mae and Hopi's chemistry would be satisfying in a romantic angle, like Mae would want someone who would believe whatever he says no matter how crazy it sounds, and would want someone whom fully devotes themselves to Mae, and someone who basically sheds their own obsession with control and power just cause of the depth of their love for Mae, and and he did end up with someone who exactly fulfills all his needs (Gwanchang). While Hopi's relationship with Mae feels more like a younger cheeky discipline & secretive and cold master that eventually warms up to the discipline and views him as part of his family. Yes I know that Mae and Hopi did sleep together once in Wax Doll but bfr to the people who think sleeping with someone leads to romantic feelings (that's just turning a blind eye to reality), and uhm his 4 year s/x partner that he kept just cause of his pettiness(he was annoyed that his step-father tried to make him stop indulging in same s/x rls so he can continue the bloodline). Mae does stuff that morally innocent people wld barely understand since he is a literal narcissistic sociopath that absolutely lost his moral compass, as seen from how he treats Hopi at the start of Wax Doll and basically his military strategies in Black Swan during the 7 year war. And I don't know if I remember correctly but I think Mae had said smth along the lines of Gwanchang being the first person he felt romantic interest for in one of his inner monologues in Black Swan, and yeah I do agree since most of Mae's character development unfolds in Black Swan where Gwanchang disrupts Mae's thoughts and order and makes him somewhat more humane.. i hope this helps w understanding
