Why do readers complain about slow uploads or dropped manga when they’re reading something for free?

I'm not complaining that readers don't pay. I'm saying if they can't wait or at least look up what has been released rather than complain about slow updates they can buy and translate themselves. It's not that hard to understand or a least I thought so but clearly your comment shows otherwise.
