Looking at this I've come to a few speculations 1) He only cares for one woman, his principal wife. Seeing the timeline, he's been out in the Frontline for 1½ years . Take that amount out of 4 and he's been actually neglecting her for 2½years. I can understand him giving her space since she married young and was abused, so he surely didn't want her feeling like she was with him out of obligation 2) It's painstakingly clear that she doesn't know she's his only wife, at least the one he chose to wed, not one passed on to him like an inheritance. 3) His statement about his "son" doesn't make sense, infact the entire dialogue is murky. I'm guessing this other concubine is also an inheritance and probably did cheat because even he has reservations about the child being his. 4) He didn't give the principal wife any duties, I'm all for a trophy wife. But this is ancient Korea. Where the literacy laws are still as strict then as they are now. I only hope her lady's in waiting were educating her on those affairs. I don't care if it's fiction. She needs to earn her bread. She's had 4 years resting time, time to pull in her weight. I can't lie, I actually like the story,it doesn't depict the fmc in a naive vexing way. Her questions are reasonable when you take them into account. Especially for someone who just had their family eradicated and has no backup plan to fall on. The mMC however has his issues but again given the time period, it's already unrealistic that he's this loyal lol I guess I'll see where it goes
