I get the author is going for this super cryptic and mysterious vibe for the plot but it’s being so poorly executed. Like you gotta give us something to work with you just randomly have the characters talk about the “novel” for a bit and then there’s no follow-up and nobody says anything outright and direct to the bottom. And of course he just keeps getting worse and worse physically and mentally.
