The thing is, Aaron always displayed obsessive and red flag characteristics but he and Yujin were always on equal footing. When Aaron’s crazy came out, Yujin was always ready to play along and match his crazy. Now they’re not on equal footing. Yujin is vulnerable, hurt, and dealing with unresolved trauma. So Aaron is just acting like himself but Yujin is too mentally tapped out to play along anymore. And that’s what makes this a particularly hard pill to swallow. Aaron has had no growth. He’s just taking advantage of Yujin’s mental state and abusing him while his guard is dropped. I think that’s why it’s so upsetting.
