The fact that when I heard “humans can’t adopt were children”, I immediately thought “well yeah cause they’ll be abused or turned into a glorified pet or something…” and that was the actual reason why they can’t… humans suck. Like I love my cats so so so much and I truly do try to treat them as cats first and pets/babies second but honestly I think I spoil them quite a lot. If I had to be in charge of a were child, I’d treat them like any other child but I don’t think I’d be immune to the charm of fur and I might touch their ear while petting their head (like I do with my cats) and I don’t think that’s appropriate for children. I’m not even sure if that’s appropriate for my cats but they seem to enjoy it and ask for it so I guess it’s fine?? But yeah, humans are the worst when it comes to literally anything else, be it a species or a robot or a rock. We will find a way to abuse it or make it a pet or to sexualise it :((
