Ok but don't blame the author because you haven't paid attention, he is shown getting skinnier specifically in a panel where his hair gets long too to show a passage of time and a decline in his mental health due to his break up with Nanjo. His smug playboy persona has always been a front to protect himself, the way he always had to prove himself to be worthy of being loved in his childhood and then being abandoned by everyone is a clear reason, no matter how good he tried to be everyone just left anyway so he stopped being "good" but you could see glimpses of his real self when he was with Nanjo, being cute and talkative, wanting to be held, sleeping on Nanjo's shoulder, hugging him after sex, is that he truly just wants to be loved and cared for.
Not only they changed the badass ML into a pathetic cry baby they even changed his body type he is waaay skinner. Why?? Its ok if youre enjoying things this way but no one can deny these 180 changes
