I know Edgar is a child but my god he needs some whacking

He is quite lonely. It’s the adults who spend way to less time with him and more with Lily. He takes the lack of attention and affection from Lily, because no one else fills it for him. But the thought of her leaving, his only source for all those things (because the adults keep saying they care for Edgar, but barely act upon it). I’m not saying Lily is obligated to take this role for Edgar. What im pointing out is the failure of the adults
