I’m surprised ppl r so concerned about the job market. If you have savings and tbh as long as you CAN, you should pursue your passions. Not everyone gets to. I can’t tell if readers on here are old or young. Coming from an auntie, if you CAN you SHOULD do something you’re passionate about because it’d absolutely a privilege. That being said, in Japan when you’re as popular as these guys you are basically like an idol. The streams r not their sole source of income. A corporate vtuber gets a percentage of their salary from a portion of their views but the rest comes from sponsorship and brand deals, marketing events etc. if you go to Japan vtubers have collabs with actual brands like how celebs do. They then also get paid for the songs they released and get money from merch and stuff. If they’re at the point they’re doing 3D they should be earning decently. En or international vtubers are more likely to work second jobs because the industry is not nearly as valuable outside Japan. But I wouldn’t rly care about that if I wanted to be a vtuber and it would make me happy. Quitting your job doesn’t mean you’ll never be employed again either lol.
