We're not sure exactly why he came to Gicheon (other than to kill himself) but there's a popular theory that he's somehow in relation to Baekhee's dad (perhaps his own dad was killed by Baekhee's father in the 'accident' he mentioned that kills him). The dates could possibly align sooo some people think Ilwoo came to Gicheon to kill Baekhee's dad and then himself (but doesn't know Baekhee is related to him). SORRY IF THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE!! I think it's an interesting theory...
So many questions... I mean, about the blond guy. Like, are they connected through the father's crime? What is actually going on? I really need some context.
