Bro; do yall really believe MC is “selling his body” willingly? It’s been made very clear that the king groomed and raped him, people were aware of it, and then when he was in prison, the other asshole and probably more people raped him for days. MC has been through HELL and that’s why he reacted that way when in the alleyway with the ML, very obviously going into a panic attack when he thought the ML might get angry.
And what’s so confusing about the story? MC was manipulated into killing the king, probably told it was to protect the queen (the lady we’ve seen multiple times now) who seems to have some kind of history with the MC. MC gets saved by the new king at the gallows, ML basically took care of all the other princes to become king. When they were young, MC guarded the ML and convinced the king to send him off to that fortress in the middle of nowhere, again probably told protect him. ML sees that as a betrayal.
Currently, MC’s abuser is manipulating and forcing him into this farce of killing the ML bc he wants to a) have the MC for himself and b) wants power.
