Because even if she came back in time and didn't know that he actually did care and even if she discovers NOW in the present that he does she has attained the wisdom to protect herself and her well-being because she has already experienced once HIM failing to do so and she is actively not taking any chances AND I LOVE THAT FOR HER. Him being told no and him lashing out is a him problem even if he feels wronged the mature thing to do would be to let it go and give it time to die down but he clearly can't handle being told no which means he's exactly the man he was raised to be which is a control freak and a control freak doesn't make for good husband material. Even if it wasn't his fault he ended up the way he way he is, he literally is not even caple of starting from scratch with because he is a 'ruler' and you cannot demand anything of a 'ruler' at all.
