You know, I thought maybe it was just yaoi or a cultural thing, but tbh I don't read a lot in general and was recently informed the obsession with rape is universal and shown in most literature with smut.
I think there's multiple possible layers as to why so many people are obsessed with rape. Like misogyny, dominance, and forced orgasm + other cnc related kinks. I can respect kinks, but the rape scenes so often feel out of place, unnecessary, too unrealistic, and overused.
I need someone to explain the obsession with rape.
