Might not be 100% accurate, but from what I remember:
- espers are not human, but are created beings
- eve/Michael is the original, and all other espers were created from him, which is why they call him father, and why his number is 00
- eve is much stronger than the other espers, but actually too strong, so when not fighting in gates, they had him completely chained and locked up
- but considering how strong eve is, it seems like the situation might amuse him, or is using the situation to look pitiful to Adam, and so doesn’t fight back even though he probably could
- Adam learned in the present timeline that eve actually erased or messed with some of his memories
- pretty sure this chapter is a flashback of one of the memories eve erased from Adam. Because Adam requested to see the video about his missing memory from his scientist (ex bf?)
- other espers seem to have more “normal” emotions and personalities, but eve doesn’t seem to understand human emotions and seems more like a sociopath to everyone except Adam. Seems like maybe he now puts on a gentle mask with Adam, and maybe deleted some of the unpleasant memories of himself from adam’s memories
- eve seems to have been heavily indoctrinated by the government that espers are just tools for killing, only the strong are needed, no emotions needed, just do your job, useless espers should be destroyed, etc.
- present day, espers aren’t really needed anymore. So the government was gonna kill them all. But then they had a esper adoption event, like adopting puppies, where if a guide chose to care for them and take them home, those espers would be spared death. Only Adam could handle eve, so they’re living together. Current eve had all his memories erased. Supposedly. But I think we got some hints that maybe eve remembers stuff, or just pretended to have the full memory wipe?
