Same, and that used to be one of my favorites. I eventually read the rest, but I don't think it ever recovers from the lost momentum. I hope this one doesn't fall for the same trap. The flashback should serve as an explanation of what happened, and not as a distraction that makes us forget and lose interest of the present time. I say 5-10 chapters maximum. Any longer would hurt the pacing. The second season should not just be about the past life.

This cliffhanger is awful because not only we have to wait for a while before season two, but season two seems to be more about their past life. While I'm super curious about what happened in the past, this would mean it will take us even longer to know what happens in the present time. I hope the flashback is concise and not as long as Eternal Covenant flashback. That one lost its momentum due to the flashback taking forever to finish. I personally enjoyed sprinkle of flashbacks more than an entire season of flashback.
