can we talk about how blatantly racist this was? i’ll try to summarize, please just hear me out.
darker skinned man is “savage,” needs to be “tamed,” literally has a COLLAR put on him by a white skinned, white-haired, civilized, prim and proper man. he’s literally referred to as a brute and a savage (historical racism) and is put in a collar with a chain on it (again, historical racism.) this whole thing reeks of a white savior complex (granted it *is* korean, ig) and is poisoned with constant microaggressions.
the story was shit, too. after all of that, mooksan STILL stole the antler and sold it? zero logic, zero character development, it’s just cheongyeom being perfect, poised and patient and mooksan causing chaos, being cruel and inconsiderate, just being extremely shitty. :/ the art was good, but it barely made it readable for me.
