I will never understand how the only thing these authors can come up with to make the plot seem “psychological” or “angsty” is rape or SA. Rape is not just some angsty trope it’s something that’s forever and something that shouldn’t be forgiven. Aaron was NEVER a green flag to start with he has always been yellow but sexual assaulting and chaining someone who spent their whole life abused by their own father is weird a twisted. I totally understand what the author is trying to do and it’s definitely leaning into the psychological side of bl but it’s still very weird for someone to think SA is the best choice to continue an angsty plot.
