I need to go back and read the ending of season 1, but I'm quite sure Eve's apathy wasn't this apparent. It kickstarted pretty harshly that I was caught off guard. I thought the author would somewhat introduce the settings and show the environment before introducing the plot for this season, but this came on pretty strong. And honestly, I don't have any complaints? I think this would be a great way to garner more attention from readers given this work has not received much love from the larger audience (comparably), sidetracked due to various problems and also because it was overshadowed by the author's other works. Overall, great to have them back. I'm excited to see how Adam will handle this (although we all lowkey know the consequence(-_-;))
It is a flashback to when Adam was Eve's guide, that's why they are inside a gate. In present time the gates are already closed. Eve was pretty unhinged during that time. Definitely worth rereading after so long!
