Every time I see people react to toxic characters like this, it honestly scares me a little... I'd have to go back through several chapters and break down his inner monologues and all those little details to explain why I find Aaron's psychology so disturbing. And no, I don't think we need to call him a sociopath to see that there's something seriously off about the way he processes emotions and deals with people.
So when people say he's suddenly trying to be Caesar or some generic toxic top, I'm just like... did we even read the same story?? You can hate this direction, think the author went too far, or feel like the execution could've been better. That's fair. But saying Aaron was never dangerous just because he hadn't crossed THIS line before? Yeah, like bro??? I don't agree with that at all.
I never said he wasn’t dangerous? I said he read as obsessive and definitely has mental issues. In another comment, I even said I knew he always had red flag tendencies. My point is, he was different from the other toxic tops. I read all his monologues and saw all the signs but does that automatically mean I should have expected this from the beginning? Why would anyone expect that? I saw different things in Aaron that separated him from the others. NOT the sociopathic type, which is why I did not expect this out of him. I don’t get what you’re trying to say, because it seems like we’re saying the same thing. I’m surprised at the direction because of the nuance of Aaron’s character and how well written he was. Thus I expected more nuance from him when it came to his obsession, not to just go the same route as the other toxic tops.

It looks so unnatural for Hunter to go like this.. like trying to fit him in the "toxic Tops" like zhenya, Ilay, and Caesar. (If their names are correct)
Its giving "performative"
