To most of the readers of this post. Please "read" the actual words of the story. The uke decided to let go of this love to give him the opportunity to try and create a family, which the uke thought it seemed like what he wanted. Did the uke ask? No, out of fear of something that we didn't get to see, but from context, it seems because his family was the type to abandon him when he came out. So this makes me think that that is what he wanted to give the seme the opportunity for. Yes he made a mistake, but he wanted to give him that choice.
Did the fact that he lost his memory help in this case? Yes, but the seme fell in love again, and then fought for their love.
So please read the story, and try to interpret the message coming through. This story could have gone more in depth, but I think it was a good example of this type of scenario for "If you love them, let them go."
All the authors we read from, for FREE, work really hard to try and create these amazing stories that we are given the opportunity to read all the time.
This is the best part of BL is getting the chance to explore complex and criminally beautiful stories.
