He was always begging for his affection and trying to keep him by his side despite the mess of a relationship he himself caused. I think the only difference is that he no longer has a grip on his emotions and lost his cool facade. As a result, nanjo let his guard down and accepted how he felt a out mokyeong. Nanjo always had a spot for people weaker than him and rn mokyeong is winning the pathetic Olympics
