To add onto that, the priest WANTED to die—it was a quick and easy death, so if Manny did kill him, it would only work out in the favor of the priest, it’s also a way to show that Manny has his own agency and can control what he does without that nasty ahh priest telling him what to do
Okay, I’m pissed off that Manny didn’t kill the priest, but I’m also glad that he didn’t kill the priest, it allows for the priest to live with that guilt for his entire life, killing him would only alleviate the pain he felt, so I feel like this is better than just outright killing him cause the priest now has to live with all that guilt and sin
