Because of Arsen's nature and the prophecy, it was obvious what would happen when they made Dilaina choose. Still, I was lowkey hoping she would at least try to protect both of them.
Idk who saved Jin in the original timeline and put him on the throne but I hope this time he lives a better life with Ian, even if he does end up as the emperor again.
