This had the potential to be a masterpiece. They had everything. Amazing theme, great characters that weren't too one dimensional (except maybe rishar lmao) and great art too. Yet somehow the pace of the story just started going crazy after chapter 50 or so. The ending was also just as lackluster. The way the empress was brought down was unsatisfactory to say the least. And the way the mc still needed ml to help him in every crucial moment just turned me off. I thought this was about empowerment of a gender suppressed for centuries but the author failed to really make that theme shine by making mc a damsel in distress during important moments and giving him very few moments to shine. Idk ig I got too invested in the story so now I'm just disappointed that it didn't really meet the expectations I had for it during initial chapters and the rushed ending was like a nail to my heart.
Side note but fuck the emperor. He deserved a punishment as well. He was just as bad as Leona.
