This is the most bland story I've read in a while. Sometimes I think the authors forget being LGBT isn't just a trope, that they are representing real people with real struggles in the day-to-day life. Why would the characters be out since the beginning? That's just boring. Where's the struggle about being gay in a straight male-dominated sport? That's just lazy and not realistic. Why not start the story from the time they first met? If you want us to care about their relationship, we have to see it being developed first. I honestly couldn't care less about their breakup. Also, they don't have any substance or deep personalities as characters. What's their backstory that leads them to act the way they do in their adult life? Why does JJ have scars? We know almost nothing about the main characters. Such a shame, because this BL had great potential.
