like how he didn't think the basement kid needed saving. legit was caring enough to keep him company or stand in his place for the punishment. like he also doesn't get that he was abused as a child? does that make sense?
i think you should read an information on why he did that to chase (there are readers that might drop this to you soon ig). grayson is not actually a purely evil character. he lacks understanding of other people's emotions and his own. it is mostly because of his phenotype. he's mostly following what ashley taught him. he's actually like a programmed robot. it's best to know these things on your own while reading the story because it is a different kind of thing to experience knowing the truth behind his actions at first hand.
It's rare to see readers actually try to think and evaluate from different point of views when it comes to Grayson. Not spoiling anything but you are heading in the right direction. For kmiyc, there a whole lot situations behind that. But yeah his heart never had any malicious intent.
thats what im saying. despite how he was depicted in the other stories, here he seems to be....more innocent in a way. niave when it comes to emotions and emoting and he's very skewed way of thinking. i wasnt trashing him. more so just having open dialogue or insight about his character seems so different in this story. while sometimes obnoxious, not nearly as diabolical as he was made to seem in the other stories. so my thought is leaning more empathatic for his lack of understanding and that he doesnt truly seem to be coming from a place of malice.

yeah i figured since he doesn't even seem to recognize his own abuse. or that it didn't dawn on him that the kid in the basement was being abused. so def a lot there im assuming when it comes to his thought process.
i wonder if Grayson terrible personality in the other stories is just a facade? while he still comes off as ignorant and unaware of himself, he's borderline charming? definitely against non consensual sex. but he's portrayed so horribly... i wonder if it's part of his personality to just push people away in a way? lie he also admitted about lying about the dog thing with his brother. he didn't actually do it but scared him into it? seeing as he was abused he's learned to manipulate by any means necessary to get a wanted outcome. without realizing he's causing harm, if he thinks the result is worth it? hence why he's so self unaware. like he really says these outlandish things to steer people or thought to get what he wants but lacks r the emotional capacity to see how words and ideas can cause harm even if not carried out. idk here he just seems like a big fucking clueless idiot. not as disgusting in previous stories. anyways just my thought since he's clearly a narcissist and sociopath. just lacks that emotion.
