As a long time enjoyer of Chinese CEO romance dramas, the ML in this one deserves to lose his whole company and his wife and child. He’s indecisive, can’t make up his mind if he trusts the FL or not, and repeatedly gives his whole ass to women who are very blatantly trying to seduce him.
The reason people like CEO romances is because the CEO in question is supposed to be competent. It’s the fantasy of being loved by someone who has good judgement and good taste, which means you are truly worthy. Being financially stable and spoiled certainly helps too. But when the man is rich but incompetent, nobody likes him. He has no excuse for being as stupid as he is, and any misfortune he meets is due to his own carelessness.
If the FL ran away with the child, letting the ML suffer on his own with these bitchy women for years before realizing how good the FL was, I would have found this story much more entertaining. Seeing instead that the ML is bogged down with White Lotus 2.0, I’m just tired.
